The Craig Reynolds Interview

By Tuck Manning

Frontiers4Men got the opportunity to sit down with Hot House’s newest exclusive star—and this issue’s centerfold and cover model—the very hunky Craig Reynolds.

So, where are you from?

I’m born and raised in California. Chico is a small in town above Sacramento.

And you live in San Francisco now?
I live in San Francisco, yeah.

How long have you been in San Francisco?
I’ve been here for seven years.

What do you do for work when you’re not in front of the camera?
I keep myself fairly busy. I’m a personal trainer, I work at a supplement store, I do live web shows and I am starting a boot camp as well.

Can you remember the very first porn film you ever watched?

I remember the first porn I watched—I actually still have the tape. It was Caesar’s Hardhat Gang Bang.

How long have you been working in the industry?

Exactly one year and three weeks. I started in July.

So you’re still a newbie. Tell me the story of how Hot House found you and how you got into the industry.
Actually, what happened was I used to be a personal trainer for Steve Cruz and he approached me for doing a video for his website, so there was a lot of talking and negotiating, and I went ahead and did it. And that’s how I actually got my feet wet. And then Barry—a former editor and photographer for Hot House and a friend of mine—I guess one of the models had dropped out of Reckless, and they asked if I would be interested, and I went ahead and agreed to it.
Likewise, Steven [Scarborough, President of Hot House] had kinda seen me at the gym, and I’d been on his radar for a while. He had his eye on me, and after doing a movie he approached me about becoming an exclusive. I almost didn’t accept because the work is really hard and I guess I wasn’t ready to commit to something like that. But again, lots of negotiating, and he talked me into it. I had to bail on a couple other projects, which made some people upset, but it was totally worth it, because I’m so happy here.

So, Reckless was your first film, right?
Reckless was the first one to release, but Hard Friction was actually the first film I shot.

Tell me about the experience on your first film? How did it go?
Well, with was my anxiety it was very stressful. I was very nervous the whole time. It was 12 hours worth of filming, and it was very non-sexual. [Laughs]
Part of it was my fault because it actually took about two hours for me do the cumshot. People were taking naps going to lunch. It was really embarrassing. I was, like, borderline ready to cry. But I finally did it, and it just got easier from there.

Did you get a round of applause afterwards?

[Laughs] I got a lot of comments—“Oh, it happens all the time” and “Don’t worry about it.” “It gets easier.” Blah, blah, blah. Not quite the round of applause.

Do you know how many films you’ve done in the last year?

Eight movies and a couple of Hot House Backroom scenes—live scenes.

Do you have a favorite scene that you’ve done, or a favorite person that you’ve worked with?
Well, they’re all great, and I’ve been lucky in who I’ve worked with, but the one who stood out the most—actually there are two—Reckless 2, with Ross Hurston and Josh West. I had a crush on both of them, so I was really excited to walk on the set and see both of them there. And one of the guys who was filming said that scene was the first scene he’d ever filmed that wasn’t just work, but was two men actually having sex on film.
And then in Loading Zone there was a scene with Arpad Miklos, which could have gone on forever and I’d have been happy.

Is there anybody you can think of that you would love to work with in the future?

I’d be interested in working with Adam Champ, Aaron Cage, Francois Sagat, Scott Tanner. The list could go on and on.

Well, you’ve only been doing it for a year. Give yourself another year and I’m sure you’ll have a different list. Are you currently single?

I currently am on the market.

Describe your ideal partner.
First and foremost is chemistry. Looks are secondary to that. Someone that’s aggressive and dominant but fun. I like a little bit of wit and charm, but really just enjoying the moment. I like bigger guys, beefy guys, hairy guys.
